About the Counsellor

In 2008, she completed her M.Sc. in Molecular & Human Genetics from Jiwaji University, which helped her begin her Ph.D. in the field of eye Genetics from esteemed CSIR institutes of India (CSIR-IICB Kolkata & CSIR-IGIB Delhi). After 7 years of research experience in her doctorate (Ph.D. Genetics Awarded in 2017), she underwent training in Genetic Counseling from Dr. Shweta Dhar, Clinical Geneticist, and Ms. Tanya Eble, CGC- Baylor College of Medicine, Texas, USA, through a one-year course. She obtained the BGCI certification thereafter. Currently, she has 7 years of experience in Genetic Counseling and has developed expertise in adult genetics, mainly in hereditary cancer. For the last 5 years, she has been associated with HCG Cancer Centre, dealing with specialized cancer cases and families with mutations in BRCA1, BRCA2, PALB2, TP53, RAD51C, PTEN, APC, MUTYH, ATM, MLH1, MSH2, MSH6, RET, EPCAM genes. She is proficient in four languages: Hindi, English, Bengali, and Gujarati.
